Master Plan — Numero Uno
So in Short, Master Plan - Numero Uno is:
Create a new generation of nostalgic gaming memories in the 21st century.
Support Mirai team members in achieving expertise in their fields through professional and personal development opportunities.
Craft blockbuster games showcasing the benefits of blockchain integration for players.
Create a culture of excellence and innovation that empowers team members to take ownership of their work and make a meaningful impact on the company's success.
Background: “As co-founder of Australia's largest toy gun ecommerce store, TacToys, Corey's name became familiar across Australia in 2019. From 2019-2021, the company bootstrapped to $15 million in yearly revenue, becoming one of Australia's fastest-growing ecommerce stores. In the years preceding the founding of TacToys, Corey founded Help Desk, a customer support service for web3 start-ups. While both companies continue to operate today, Mirai Labs combines both his interests in gaming and web3.”
When we entered the gaming industry in early 2021, we planned to dip our toes into the water and target the play-to-earn sector, but when the opportunity presented itself, we jumped in head first.
It is well known to all of you that Pegaxy was our first studio title. However, what you may not know is that we planned to be a multi-game studio like most successful ones. In the case of multi-games, I don't mean re-releases of existing titles, I mean entirely new IPs. The reason for this is simple; if Mirai Labs wants to become a real industry player, it will need multiple high-revenue producing titles and products.
Additionally, I understood that without mission objectives, we'd be driving blind, and due to the mountains of stress and surefire attacks we'll endure during the missions outlined below, we must have crystal clear objectives to remain focused. As a result, I designed these targets to be memorable and impactful, while at the same time being big enough to inspire our team for a long time to come.
1 - Create Games People Will Remember for Decades
The feeling of nostalgia (wistful affection for the past) is something I want to give to the world. You know that feeling you get when you think back to the Rust 1v1's during the MW2 CoD days, or when you first started playing DOTA or LOL and your teammates would talk shit blaming each other for every loss? That's the feeling I want to bring to the world. In my opinion, Pegaxy will be remembered for years to come regardless of how it develops in the future — because of the sheer amount of money that has gone through it. However, this is only one title and may not be remembered purely for how much fun people had playing. There is still work to be done.
To create a new generation of nostalgic memories through mobile games, we're going to need deep experience, wisdom, and focus when creating them. Without attracting top talent and providing them with the creative freedom to build out a players' wildest dreams, we won't be able to achieve this.
2 - Open Doors to Talented and Passionate Builders Around the World
When it comes to attracting top talent, I understand that a person's confidence in a company is determined by the company's time in the trenches and its experience in the field. It's something we don't have yet, no matter how much we blur the lines.
Bringing in world-class talent won't happen overnight at Mirai. Despite this, I believe we can grow native talent by providing a high intensity, educationally focused, and encouraging work environment that promotes growing personally and professionally. We will eventually be in a position where world-class talent can see Mirai Labs for what it really is, based on our products, reputation, brand, and wisdom. In the meantime, I will make sure that our doors are open to those who are passionate about creating popular games that will appeal to worldwide audiences and ultimately bring real nostalgia to our users.
3 - Introduce the Benefits of Blockchain to Popular Mobile Games
Question: If no one plays your game, does it really matter if you achieve minimal friction, a great user experience and peer-to-peer trading enabled by blockchain? No. All pieces of the pie need to be eaten, and that includes “being popular”.
We must combine amazing game design, a wide target audience, great branding, low-cost user acquisition strategies, and, most importantly, a profitable monetization strategy with a go-to-market strategy that will drive downloads. It is only by building popular games that people love, and integrating blockchain where it makes sense, that we can effectively introduce the benefits of blockchain to the average person.
Yours faithfully,Co-Founder and CEO, Corey Wilton.
